A Timeless District 5 Community
If you feel like breaking out in song and dance while walking down the streets of Detroitโs Gateway Community, thereโs a good reason for that.
This northernmost living community is home to the childhood homes of Motown music legends like Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson, injecting it with a strong sense of soul, history, and hope.
Located just four miles north of downtown on the edge of Woodward Avenue, District 5โs Gateway Community is a timeless Detroit staple experiencing a surge of new energy in the face of Detroitโs renaissance era.

Gatewayโs Parks and Nearby Green Scene
Though the Gateway Community itself is mostly residential with very limited areas to head out and enjoy nature, nearby Bradby Park just a few blocks east provides residents some reprieve.
Brady Park not only has a playground, it also offers basketball courts, shaded picnic areas, and wide open fields perfect for casual sports games.
Another huge perk lies just south of the neighborhoodโDetroitโs historic Boston-Edison District.

Commuting in Gateway
Gateway Community offers a number of great transportation solutions.
With Woodward Avenue running directly through the neighborhood, a drive into downtown Detroit is made very hassle-free.
As far as interstate access, the John C. Lodge Freeway is located just west, Interstate 75 a few blocks east, and the Davison Freeway less than a mile north.
Public transit is also readily available for residents without a vehicle, with several bus stops on Woodward giving residents a brief 30-minute ride into downtown.
