Start with the legal or operational issue, then use the responsible Michigan or Detroit source instead of relying on a repair shop or directory page for a government answer.

Keep title and registration records aligned
Michigan Secretary of State vehicle services control titles, registration, plates, tabs, and related state records. Use the official vehicle pages for the current transaction, documents, appointment or online options, and fees. A bill of sale, insurance card, dealer message, or repair invoice does not replace the title and registration records required for ownership and operation.
Resolve name, address, lien, ownership, out-of-state, duplicate-title, or transfer issues through the Secretary of State process. Do not send title images, identification, insurance records, or payment through an unsolicited text or email. The state warns that it will not ask for money or personal information through those unverified messages.

Separate insurance requirements from repair decisions
Michigan vehicle registration and renewal can require proof of valid Michigan no-fault insurance. Coverage, claims, deductibles, rental benefits, repair authorization, total-loss decisions, and liability are separate questions for the insurer and applicable policy. A body shop or directory profile cannot determine what a policy covers.
After a crash or loss, protect safety, follow reporting requirements, document the condition, and ask the insurer what may be inspected or authorized before permanent repair. Compare repair scopes and parts descriptions in writing. Rebuild Detroit does not adjust claims, inspect vehicles, guarantee a shop, determine fault, or interpret an insurance policy.

Verify shops and regulated services
Identify the legal business, repair location, person authorizing the work, diagnosis, estimate, parts, labor, storage, teardown, disposal, warranty, and approval process. Ask before work begins how additional damage or price changes are handled. Keep the signed authorization, estimate revisions, payments, parts information, and final invoice.
Where a business or occupation is regulated, use Michigan's official license source and match the record to the party performing or selling the service. A profile, review, logo, franchise name, or roadside claim is not government verification. For towing, emergency response, or roadside hazards, use the responsible public-safety or road authority first.

Check Detroit roads, parking, and travel conditions
Parking rules, meters, municipal facilities, temporary restrictions, construction, snow, events, and road incidents can change a trip. Use the City of Detroit department directory and current transportation sources to identify the responsible office. A business parking lot, private structure, residential street, and state highway may follow different rules.
Plan the full trip and return, not only the destination. Check signage at the actual location and preserve payment or permit confirmation. Rebuild Detroit organizes automotive and local-resource links but does not issue titles, plates, licenses, insurance, parking permissions, repair approvals, or roadway instructions.
