    Call or walk in

    Call Detroit at Work at (313) 962-9675 or visit a career center, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many centers stay open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays.

    Meet a career adviser

    An adviser checks your eligibility, goals and any skills testing the program needs.

  3. 3

    Bring your documents

    Expect to show ID, proof of address and proof you can work in the U.S. If you are missing a document, advisers can help you get it.

    Start training

    Finish the program, earn your credential and get help applying for trade jobs in Detroit.

Short programs often lead straight to a job or into a paid apprenticeship in Detroit.
