Schools and training providers connect learners to occupations, credentials, employers, and public workforce systems, but each connection has its own approval and evidence requirements. Rebuild Detroit can organize public resources and provider discovery; it does not license schools, approve curricula, promise referrals, or certify employment outcomes.

Confirm the provider and program authority
A Michigan proprietary trade or career school should confirm its current licensing and program obligations with the state Post Secondary Schools unit. Degree-granting, community-college, apprenticeship, and other education models may follow different oversight. A business filing, school license, program approval, accreditation, and eligible-training status are separate records.
Use the provider's exact legal name, campus, and program when checking an official system. Publish only claims that can be traced to the responsible authority and current catalog. If a credential prepares learners for an external license or examination, explain that distinction rather than suggesting graduation automatically grants the credential.

Connect programs to occupations and employer needs
Define the occupation, tasks, skill level, equipment, credential, and work setting before describing employer alignment. Michigan workforce resources and labor-market information can help frame demand, while direct employer conversations clarify local requirements. Neither source should be converted into a guarantee that every graduate will be hired.
When an employer participates in curriculum review, work-based learning, interviews, or hiring events, document the exact relationship and dates. Do not call an employer a hiring partner without current authorization. Keep paid employment, internship, clinical placement, simulated lab activity, and registered apprenticeship clearly labeled as different experiences.

Use workforce and apprenticeship systems accurately
Michigan Training Connect is the state's eligible training provider search, but listing status does not by itself establish that a learner will receive funding. Local Michigan Works agencies determine current services and individual processes. Providers should direct applicants to the responsible agency rather than advertising assistance as automatic.
Registered Apprenticeship is employer-driven and combines a paid job, structured on-the-job learning, related instruction, progressive wages, and a recognized credential. A school may provide related instruction, but the official employer or sponsor relationship must be verified before a program is promoted as registered apprenticeship.

Publish costs and outcomes with a method
Disclose tuition, fees, books, tools, testing, licensing, transportation, and other expected costs in the applicable enrollment materials. Explain refund and cancellation terms, attendance requirements, completion standards, and transfer limits. Time-sensitive prices, schedules, aid, and start dates belong in a maintained official source, not unsupported evergreen copy.
Outcome claims should identify the cohort, period, denominator, definition, and verification method. Rebuild Detroit does not audit school data, rank providers, or accept a school application on this page. Any future provider profile or paid placement remains separate from official licensing and must not change the factual verification standard.
