Start with the neighborhood or destination area, available time, indoor or outdoor preference, party needs, budget range, and transportation plan. A museum visit, park activity, market, performance, neighborhood walk, family program, sporting event, and restaurant outing each require different checks. Use canonical city and neighborhood pages to understand location before committing.
Avoid a schedule built from copied hours or an old list. Review the official operator page for the actual date and check again shortly before departure. A destination can change hours, capacity, admission, exhibits, entrances, parking, or reservation requirements without changing its general directory description.

Use Detroit's current park and recreation sources
Detroit Parks and Recreation publishes current parks, centers, athletics, aquatics, enrichment, nature, camps, reservations, and special-event information. Program availability, eligibility, fees, registration, equipment, accessibility, and capacity vary by site and season. Contact the responsible location when a detail affects participation.
Public space does not mean every activity is allowed without a reservation or permit. Organized gatherings, structures, vending, amplified sound, field use, and other activities can require review. Use the current city process and follow posted site rules. Rebuild Detroit does not reserve facilities or issue event permissions.

Coordinate events, dining, and accessibility
Use the City of Detroit calendar and official organizer or venue page for event status. Check admission, age rules, bag policy, accessibility, weather, postponement, and refund terms. For dining, confirm current menu, hours, reservations, dietary handling, and service format directly with the restaurant.
Ask destinations about entrances, seating, restrooms, mobility devices, interpreters, sensory accommodations, service animals, and drop-off. An accessibility statement may not describe a temporary layout or every part of a site. Give the operator enough time to answer and build a backup plan for time-sensitive needs.

Plan transportation and personal safety
Check DDOT, SMART, road, parking, venue, and event instructions for the complete trip and return. Construction, special events, weather, and public-safety activity can change normal access. Confirm whether parking is public, private, prepaid, permit-only, or restricted by posted signs at the location.
Keep tickets and confirmations in an account you control, meet in public places, and use 911 for immediate danger.
