In memory. In memory of founder Eric Ford, who passed away in September 2025 at 58. The Detroit 300 carries on his vision: protect people, empower the block, and honor lives lost too early.
Founded by the late Eric Ford in 2011 as a citizen-led safety alliance. Hundreds of volunteers act as the eyes and ears of the streets: walking children to school, escorting elders, supporting families after violent incidents and working with community leaders to prevent violence. Programs include a Saturday Street Patrol, de-escalation and CPR training, and community safety workshops.
