What the Verified badge tells a customer

These are the same checks described on How We Vet. Every Verified profile shows the date of its latest check.

  • License. Where Michigan licenses your field (real estate, appraisal, mortgage, title, law and the licensed trades), we confirm the license on the state lookup and record its number and status on the day we check. For agents, lenders, attorneys and appraisers, that is the whole check.
  • Business identity, for contractors and home service pros. We confirm the legal business name and address match the license or registration.
  • Insurance, for work at a customer's property. Contractors and home service pros need a current general liability certificate, plus workers' compensation if they have employees. Agents, lenders, attorneys and other licensed professionals do not need one.

The $30/month covers the checks, rechecks and your dashboard. It does not guarantee the badge. If a business does not pass, it does not get the badge at any price, and standards are the same for every business.

  • Not an endorsement. Verified is a dated record of a check, not a review of your work.
  • Not placement. Verified does not include a featured spot. To be featured on trade, service or city pages, add a featured plan.
  • Not a rating. Ratings come from public reviews and cannot be bought.

Search first. If you are not there, use "My business is not listed" and we create your profile, or start Verified and we build it with you.
How much does it cost to get verified?
The Verified Profile plan is $39/month. It covers the checks, rechecks at renewal and your business dashboard.
Can I pay to get the Verified badge?
No. Payment covers the checking work. The badge only appears if the checks for your field come back clean: the license it requires, plus insurance for contractors and home service pros.
What documents do I need?
It depends on your field. Real estate agents: your Michigan real estate license number, nothing else. Lenders: your NMLS ID. Attorneys: your P number. Contractors and home service pros: your Michigan license where your trade requires one, a general liability insurance certificate, and your legal business name and address.
How long does verification take?
It depends on how quickly we can confirm your documents. Having your license number and certificates ready speeds it up.
What happens if my insurance lapses?
We update or remove the badge when we learn a license lapsed or a policy was cancelled. You can get it back once the issue is fixed and rechecked.
I run a trade school or an employer. Is this for me?
