How land bank purchases work
- Tax-foreclosed property goes to the county treasurer, then often to a land bank instead of the auction.
- Side lots: owner-occupants next door usually get first right at a low fixed price.
- Structures normally come with a rehab deadline and compliance checks.
- Title is usually quit claim. Get a title search before you build.
County tax auction
Macomb County Treasurer. Foreclosed parcels not taken by a land bank are sold at the county auction, usually in late summer and fall.
