The story
The house at 269 Edmund Place went up in 1883, as Detroit's lumber, stove and shipbuilding money went into brick and stone.
It carries the name of Thomas Ladue.
The plans came from William Scott & Co., working in the Victorian style.
Today it sits inside Brush Park, one of the blocks Detroit has chosen to protect.
Most homes like it are lived in, so enjoy it from the sidewalk.
