The story
In 1919, in the years Detroit became the Motor City and built like it meant to stay on top, the COGIC Brooks Cathedral Center opened in East Village.
Emily H. Butterfield, Wells D. Butterfield, and Butterfield & Butterfield drew the plans, working in Greek Revival.
It still stands and still opens its doors.
