The story
In 1924, in the years Detroit became the Motor City and built like it meant to stay on top, the Eddystone Hotel opened in Midtown.
Louis Kamper drew the plans, working in Italian Renaissance.
The National Register of Historic Places listed it in 2006.
It still stands and still opens its doors.
