The story

In 1929, as the auto boom spread out from Detroit and the suburbs began to fill in, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church opened in Highland Park.

It was built in the Late Gothic Revival style, and it still reads that way from the sidewalk.

The National Register of Historic Places listed it in 1982.
