The story
In 1853, in the years when roads in from Detroit were plank and mud, Jacob Fishbeck Farmstead opened in Genoa Township.
It was built in the Greek Revival style, and it still reads that way from the sidewalk.
It joined the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
Go see it at 5151 Crooked Lake Road. Photos never get the scale right.
