The story

In 1891, as Detroit's lumber, stove and shipbuilding money went into brick and stone, the Parke-Davis and Company Pharmaceutical Company Plant opened in Rivertown.

The design came from Albert Kahn; Donaldson & Meier and Smith, Hinchman & Grylls, in the Romanesque Revival style.

It joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
